Distance Education
What is Distance Education?
Distance Education/Learning is defined by the instructor/period of instruction being physically separated from the learner in time and/or location. Mount Wachusett Community College uses the following methods of delivery:
Web-based via Blackboard
MWCC utilizes Blackborad as its main resource for hosting online courses. Blackboard is a self-contained set of productivity tools used to develop static and interactive course components for delivery over the web. Using drag and drop/cut and paste technology, instructors can easily place their syllabi, lecture notes, and announcements online as well as use other interactive devices such as live chat, whiteboard, email, disscussion boards, and online assessments.
Blackboard is a virtual tool and can be accessed by both instructor and student from any computer connected to the web.
To learn more about Blackboard visit www.blackboard.com. If you are a MWCC faculty member and wish to start using Blackboard, contact Don Westover at 3978-630-9487.
