Classroom Performance Systems (CPS)
a.k.a. Clickers
The Classroom Performance System (CPS) is a wireless assessment response system. Students respond to instructor's questions by way of a handheld key pad. The infrared or radio frequency communicates with the receiver unit and relates that information to the software which charts the responses on a viewable screen.
CPS is an interactive way to gage student comprehension and attitues on-the-fly. Everyone in the classroom can participate and respond at the same time. Anonimity of responses can eliminate student embarassment and ensure honest responses.
